Town of art and history, Arles is home to many treasures that have earned it a World Heritage Site by UNESCO: its old center and all its Roman monuments; the Chemin d'Arles which since the Middle Ages is one of the four routes through France and Europe to Santiago de Compostela and its natural area of global interest very popular with ornithologists, in particular.
Located on the migration route of birds from northern Europe to Africa, the Camargue is indeed a major migratory stopover. It is also home to the only nesting site in France of flamingos which earned its registration in the world network of biosphere reserves.
The town of Van Gogh is also a very dynamic cultural destination, it is the rendezvous of photography of course, with the Rencontres d'Arles since 1969 as well as music, literature and bullfighting and since 2017, the birthplace of Luma Arles. A unique place in Europe, 10 hectares of industrial scrubland converted into an art center by the Luma Foundation of Maja Hoffmann. The capital of the Camargue and Provencal culture has definately many assets to seduce you. Its location in the Rhone Delta and its proximity to the Alpilles and the Luberon make it, moreover, an ideal destination to go to meet our beautiful Provence, its markets, its towns and villages with evocative names. Les Baux-de-Provence and the magnificent light & sound shows of the Carrières de Lumières, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Marseille, the Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Fontvieille and the Alphonse Daudet mill ... are only a few kilometers away.

Museum Réattu
Construit fin XVème le Grand-Prieuré de l'Ordre de Malte doit sa destinée à Jacques Réattu (1760-1833), peintre arlésien et Grand Prix de Rome. Devenu musée en 1868, l'édifice conserve toute son oeuvre et sa collection personnelle,
Ouvert à la photographie dès les années 60 (4000 œuvres aujourd'hui), enrichi par des dons d'exception (Picasso, avec 57 dessins et deux peintures, Alechinsky...), très sensible à la sculpture (Germaine Richier, Toni Grand...), le musée a créé en 2008 une chambre d'écoute dédiée à l'art sonore. Véritable lieu de confluences, pratiquant la commande aux artistes et le mélange des disciplines, le musée propose expositions thématiques et accrochages renouvelés pour découvrir l'art autrement.
